MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: DATE: RE: Steve Suitts, Lani Guinier, Napoleon l^lilliams, Richard K1ein, and Raymo/rd Wheeler Leslie l^Iinner \^('n,/ January 29, 1982 v GinEles, et a1. v. Edmisten Enclosed is the state's Motion to Consolidate and Request For a Three Judge Court in the republican suit. I do not see any need to respond to this. Jim trIa11ace has assured me that he will forward a proposed Discovery Stipulation to me prior to submitting it to the Court. The new timetable appears to be that the legislature will convene on February 9, and pass a plan for the House and Senate within the next couple of days. It is questionable whether or not they will pass a new congressional plan. They have set filing time for House and Senate and Congress in late April with a primary date of June 1.
