Application is here made for a 45 day extension of time to
and inctuaing July 29, 1985 for the appellants, Rufus L. Edmisten,
et a1., to file a brief in this appeal. The Clerk of the Court
EEslreviously notif ied the parties that the appellantsr brief
would be due June I3r 1985. This case is on direct appeal from
a three-judge court of the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Since the case previously has not been prepared for appeal to a
Court of Appeals, counsel for the appellants need additional
time to review the record in order to fully brief the issues.
Appelleers counsel, Carol Lani Guinier, has consented to this
e-xlension. Appellant believes that an extension will not unduly
delay this Courtrs consideration of this appeal.
